For fans of gothic literature, Fae has an established reputation for quality and imagination. This book, one of her earlier works, is a great introduction for new readers. It is a story full of intrigue and mystique that is fast paced and fun to read. While it visits several themes that are familiar to the dark fantasy genre, it does so in a creative way with vivid characters and captivating twists and turns. I highly recommend this for fans of the Twilight series. While that was a nice introduction to the genre, Fae shows you how an old pro does the real thing.
